Ma馬-Jong & Games: A CINGS Lunar New Year Party
Celebrate the Year of the Fire Horse with CINGS (China Institute Next Generation), The Serica Initiative, and Chop Suey Club at the China Institute in NYC. This festive fundraiser features Mahjong, games, drinks, delicious food, curated vendors, and a DJ-led party atmosphere—welcoming everyone from complete beginners to seasoned players.
Giving Circle Town Hall [Members Only]
Join us for an engaging and collaborative gathering designed to reflect on our progress, share insights, and shape the direction of this year’s Giving Circle. We’ll begin with a warm welcome and introductions, followed by an update on our ABC Partnership, highlighting key achievements and developments so far.
Giving Circle Virtual Presentations [Members Only]
In this meeting, the ABC Giving Circle team will present 12 NGO projects under the 'carbon reduction/climate' topic and answer questions from donors. These projects have been selected from our NGO project database and reviewed using an impact metric that has been introduced to the donors. After the presentation, donors are expected to vote for their top 3 choices. The top 6 projects will move on to the Roadshow meeting on Dec. 6th, where NGO representatives will come online to present their projects and answer questions from the audience.
Art & DJ Night
CINGS and China Institute Gallery are co-organizing our first Art & DJ Night! Come for a curated tour of the current exhibition "Metamorphosis," which highlights works by 28 contemporary artists of Chinese descent and was featured in the New York Times. Connect with a creative community over drinks and immerse yourself in music by DJ Shuyin.
This event is special for CINGS because we will announce our next membership application cycle there. Also, it is Yvonne's last in-person CINGS event before she moves to DC, and she hopes you will come hang out!
CINGS Speaker Series: Kickoff with Kevin Xu
We are excited to announce the CINGS Speaker Series with our guest Kevin Xu, Founder & CIO of Interconnected Capital and author of Interconnected, a widely read substack on geopolitics, industrial policy, and the global AI stack. Kevin is regularly quoted by The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and the Financial Times, and has appeared as a podcast and on-air guest with CNBC, Bloomberg’s Odd Lots, ChinaTalk, and Asia Society panels.

Since the early 21st century, global transformations across politics, economics, and culture have reshaped architectural practice—particularly in China, where rapid urbanization has shifted toward a period of refinement and reinvention. This event explores the rise of a new generation of unconventional Chinese architects who are redefining design through innovation in technology, industry, and media, expanding architecture beyond traditional boundaries. Featuring architect, educator, and curator Fei Wang 王飝, the program highlights pioneering projects from his recent publication Architecture and Beyond: Unconventional Architectural Practice in China. Signed copies will be available for purchase. Co-hosted by China Institute Next Gen Serica (CINGS) and Architectural Practice Talks (APT).

Experience COSMISM: A Sonic & Visual Dialogue atFou Gallery
Join CINGS (China Institute Next Gen x Serica) at Fou Gallery on February 22, 2025 (Saturday), 6:30–9 PM for COSMISM: Between Space & Time—an immersive performance blending sound and visual art.
Curated by Chamberlain Zhang, COSMISM is a performance series launched in collaboration with CINGS (China Institute Next Gen x The Serica Initiative) to support emerging Asian artists in New York and beyond.
This special evening features experimental composers Jenn Grossman and Chamberlain Zhang, whose work intertwines architecture, improvisation, and sound to create an experience that transcends physical and perceptual boundaries. Their live performance engages in a dynamic dialogue with Wang Ming’s solo exhibition, Through Lingering Windows, currently on view at Fou Gallery.
